BE A CHAMPION FOR THE PEOPLE OF B.C. AND OVER 8,000 PHYSICIANS.
Associate Chief Executive Officer
In this new and critical executive position, you will make it your personal mission to support the highest possible quality of medical care in the Province of B.C. while protecting the integrity and honour of the profession. The British Columbia Medical Association works to promote a social, economic and political climate in which over eight thousand member physicians can provide the citizens of B.C. the highest standards of healthcare while achieving maximum professional satisfaction. The new role of Associate C.E.O. has been created to add executive management capacity to the B.C. Medical Association as it leads in the transformation of the Province's healthcare system.
With a staff of 75 and an annual operating budget of $11 million, the B.C.M.A. is committed to advancing the scientific, educational, professional and economic welfare of all members of the medical profession in British Columbia. The Association influences Government on health policy and planning. It acts as an advocate and champion for exceptional patient care. It represents the collective view of British Columbia's physicians and then communicates that view to all of those who care deeply about improving the healthcare landscape. Reporting to and working closely with the C.E.O., your leadership contribution to the senior team, to the members and to the 75 professional staff of the Association will help to push the frontiers of medicine forward in British Columbia.
You have likely earned leadership distinction as a physician or senior administrator in the delivery or promotion of healthcare. Alternatively, your experience may be a senior role in a professional association dealing with multiple stakeholder groups. A strategic thinker, inspirational leader and relentless advocate, you are now ready to play a significant role and make a difference in the continuing quest to make British Columbia's healthcare system a model of compassion and responsiveness.
