MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Chief Economist & Assistant Managing Director
Vancouver Board of Trade
Vancouver, British Columbia

With its panoramic view of the Pacific Rim, the Vancouver Board of Trade (VBT) has become a provincial and national thought leader on behalf of its 5,300 members. A staunch advocate, champion, business builder and policy developer, the VBT promotes, enhances and facilitates the development of the region as a Pacific centre for trade, commerce and travel. Working with an entrepreneurial Managing Director, you will continue the Board's 120-year-old tradition of enriching members with a full program of events, programs and business intelligence.

In this core role, you will focus your insights and energy on policy development, relationship management and day-to-day organizational leadership. In your capacity as Chief Economist, you will greatly influence public and economic policy while providing economic research that promotes development of Vancouver and British Columbia as a centre for trade, commerce and travel. Act as an advisor and counsellor to the Managing Director and the Board's many volunteer committees and task forces. Be one of the principal faces and voices of the Vancouver Board of Trade with stakeholders and in the media. Hit the ground running as VBT expands its reputation as one of Canada's leading influencers of economic development.

Today, you are likely developing and impacting on economic policy and research with a bank, major trade association or in government. An articulate speaker and compelling writer, you have both the people and technical skills to create an immediate impact on the Board, its members and the region. Join a dynamic group of people who truly are making a difference.
