EMC provides coordinated and integrated services, excellent ambulance response times and professional delivery of paramedic services throughout Nova Scotia. The organization manages a ground ambulance service and ambulance communications/dispatch centre as well as 62 paramedic base locations and field posts. EMC operates and maintains a fleet of 157 vehicles and employs nearly 1,000 people dedicated to providing professional care and commitment to the community.
As an initiator and champion of change, you will create a human resource plan that builds on the core values of the organization. Your ultimate objective is to make your team an invaluable resource to the unionized workers, non-unionized workers, managerial staff and executives of EMC by supporting them in their jobs and their career aspirations. Begin with building credibility across the organization by understanding the dynamics of the business. Promote your team's capabilities. Establish lines of dialogue and processes for accessing the competent professionals on your HR team. Pay particular attention to compensation issues, collective agreement administration and succession planning. Make EMC a model of high performance and client care as it fields more than 100,000 emergency calls per year.
In your current senior human resources role, you have demonstrated leadership in all facets of the discipline. You're especially good at the human side of HR. Now, you're ready to work closely with the President, share his passion for excellence and make EMC the employer of choice in Nova Scotia and Canada.
